Meet Dr. Thakore
Shaival Thakore, MD, MBA, FACP
Dr. Shaival Thakore grew up in South Florida and attended the University of South Florida for both Undergraduate and Medical School. Dr. Thakore loved the Tampa Bay Area so much he stayed at the University of South Florida to complete his residency in Internal Medicine. In 2008, Dr. Thakore helped start a hospitalist group at HCA Florida Bayonet Point and became the Hospitalist Medical Director. Dr. Thakore served as the Hospitalist Medical Director from 2010-2026 where he was instrumental in expanding the program from 4 to 16 providers. Dr. Thakore is passionate about educating and training future doctors and has been involved with medical education since 2008. Dr. Thakore served as the Internal Medicine Program Director at HCA Florida Bayonet Point since 2019. He has been integrally involved with numerous leadership roles and served on various medical staff committees at Bayonet Point. Dr. Thakore currently serves as Vice Chief of Staff at Bayonet Point. Dr. Thakore is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine. Dr. Thakore also earned his MBA in Health Care from USF. In 2017, Dr. Thakore was awarded the prestigious Frist Humanitarian Award, recognizing his extraordinary commitment to selflessness and caring of patients. He has also been awarded Faculty of the Year, Physician of the Month, Physician of the Quarter, and Faculty Mentor Award. Although he enjoyed his time treating acute patient conditions in the hospital for the past 18 years, he is excited to utilize his vast knowledge from the hospital to provide comprehensive, high quality primary care to his patients. In his free time Dr. Thakore enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids, exercising, going to the beach, cooking, and supporting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Go Bucs!
